Tessa Thompson

Tessa Lynn Thompson is an American actress who was born September 3rd, 1983 in Los Angeles. She is a daughter of Marc Anthony Thompson (a singer/songwriter) and granddaughter Bobby Ramos, an actor/musician. Thompson was born in Los Angeles and raised there before moving to Brooklyn. Her father is of African-Panamanian ancestry and her mother is of Mexican as well as British Isles heritage. Thompson studied at Santa Monica High School where she took part in a variety of theatre productions. Following her graduation, she began her studies in Santa Monica College, where she received a bachelor's diploma in cultural anthropology. The role she played was Juliet the character in the play by William Shakespeare "Romeo as well as Juliet" as part of the Pasadena California production by The Boston Court Theatre. She was nominated for the NAACP Theatre Award in the same year. Away from the theatre scene, in 2005 Tessa had her first television appearance as she appeared on the CBS series Tessa Tessa Tessa
